Thanks to Co-operative Funeralcare

Many thanks to Co-operative Funeralcare in Oakham for their generous donation towards our Spring planting.

Oakham In Bloom were invited to the Co-operative premises on Oakham High Street to collect the cheque from Funeral Director Michelle Meynell.

“Oakham In Bloom projects bring a lot of joy to residents and visitors and the volunteers do a fantastic job.” said Michelle “We have some Oakham In Bloom planters outside our premises and in Gaol Street which look great all year round, receiving many comments from our clients and passers-by.”

Michelle and her team want to support local community organisations and recognise the work of volunteers in any way they can – Michelle is keen to get gardening too and plans to get her hands dirty with the Oakham In Bloom volunteers!

Michelle added: “Co-operative Funeralcare is proud to sponsor such a worthwhile cause and we hope to continue this support for many years to come.”

Oakham In Bloom Vice-Chairman Derek Bilby said “It’s such a pleasure to be rewarded with donations from local businesses – this donation from Co-operative Funeralcare helps fund planting for the town centre which makes Oakham much more appealing to visitors and shoppers.”

The Oakham In Bloom committee are also delighted to be working with Michelle and other organisations to plan replacement murals on the Gaol Street side of the Co-operative’s building as part of their refurbishments later this year.
