Oakham In Bloom was formed in August 1997 – the committee consists entirely of volunteers and works in partnership with Oakham Town Council, Rutland County Council, schools and youth groups, voluntary organisations, residents and businesses. Read more...

Schools & Young People

Oakham In Bloom are dedicated to encouraging young people to get involved with horticulture and the environment - we welcome children at our working parties and work closely with local schools to enrich their curriculum.

The Peacock

In the gardens at the back of Oakham Library is a popular feature with visitors and residents - The Peacock! 'Rescued' in 2011 from the old prison site at Ashwell, the Peacock was installed and planted in 2012.
Bypass & Roundabouts
 

Bypass & Roundabouts

The bypass and its roundabouts have been the biggest project for Oakham In Bloom in recent years. Throughout 2009 Oakham In Bloom planned to develop the centres of the five roundabouts along the bypass – a long term project over several years.
